About the Attorney

Sandra Y. Benton

Sandra Benton filed her first bankruptcy case in 1993.  At that time, she realized that she had found an area of law that she wanted to pursue as she really enjoyed helping clients through the fast-paced bankruptcy process.  Sandra especially enjoys the significant amount of contact with the client, and finds each case is as unique as each client.  She believes that excessive debt diminishes the quality of life for the client and the client’s family.  She feels that if she helps a client better manage debt, the whole family benefits.  She will try to help you simplify your financial situation so you can spend your time doing activities that are important to you.

Sandra was a teacher before she started practicing law.  She taught elementary, junior high, and high school students, usually math.  Additionally, she taught education courses at the college level. While in graduate school, she adopted the philosophy of life-long learning and believes everyone should and can continue to learn throughout their lives.  Applying this philosophy in her practice of law, she tries to teach as well as counsel her clients.  She believes people will make good decisions for their families if they have the information they need. In addition to helping you eliminate your debt in a Chapter 7 or pay it in a Chapter 13, she hopes the concepts you learn through the bankruptcy process will help you make better financial decisions in the future.

In addition to consumer bankruptcy, Sandra also practices and can assist you in the areas of uncontested divorce, Social Security disability, personal injury, wills, and power of attorney.
